Very often, Health care providers advice their clients to reduce the salt in their diet, this is because the main componet of salt is sodium chloride and too much of sodium chloride in the body system can damage the body. Basically, Table salt is sodium chloride. Research has shown that one teaspoon of salt contains approximately 2,300 mg of sodium.

 For your body to work properly at all times, You need a certain balance of sodium and water in your system. Having Too much salt or too much water in your system can/will upset this balance.To keep the correct balance, your kidneys get rid of extra sodium that is not needed in the body. Now this is a proof that you are healthy also note that reverse can also be the case. This give rise to the question, What might be wrong with sodium?

What’s bad about sodium and Effect of Too Much Sodium in The Body
Having Too much sodium in your body system makes your body to retain (hold onto) water and this is bad because, This puts an extra burden/Load on your heart and blood vessels. This can/may lead to high blood pressure or raise in blood pressure In some people. To lower blood pressure or avoid high blood pressure it is very important that you reduce the use of sodium in your diet/food. Research has shown that People with high blood pressure are more likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke.
